Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT)

Academics BPT

Bachelor of Physiotherapy program is offered by Sapthagiri Institute of Physiotherapy, Bengaluru . The BPT course is designed to meet the international standards and is recognized by the IAP. The program is taught by qualified faculty and has a balanced exposure of both academic and clinical training. The undergraduate program is for four and a half years with a well steered and updated curriculum and delivery modes emphasizing on evidence based practices.

Attendance

A candidate is required to attend at least 80 percent of the total classes conducted in a year in all subjects prescribed for that year, separately, in theory and practical / clinical to become eligible to appear for the university examination in the first attemp

Schedule of examination

First, Second, Third and Final Examinations of BPT course shall be held at the end of 1st year, 2nd year, 3rd year and 4th year respectively.

Internship

There shall be six months (26 weeks) of Internship after the final year examination for candidates declared to have passed the examination in all the subjects.

The 6 months of rotational posting must be covered in the following pattern. Physiotherapy OPD (including Pediatrics and OBG wards), Orthopedic wards , General Medicine wards (including MICU and CCU ), General Surgery wards (including CTS wards, CTS-ICU and Burns) Neurology and Neurosurgery wards (including Neuro ICU), Community Posting.
